The Reebok Summer Championships will be the country’s largest open division tournament during the July evaluation period. 224 teams will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada to be crowned champion in the Open, A, B, C and High School divisions. Last year, more than 2800 players from 39 states and Canada battled five days in the desert where last second buzzer beaters, heated coastal rivalries and unexpected upsets became everyday occurrences. However, when the final horn sounded on the open division championship, Brandon Jennings, Darius Norris and Renaldo Wooldridge had led Belmont Shores (CA) to a 78-73 victory over Kenny Boynton and Brandon Knight of Team Breakdown (FL). Entering into this July’s event, Team Breakdown is the early favorite to win it all as they return several key players from last year’s 17 and Under AAU National championship team. The Reebok Summer Championships is considered by many influential media writers as the most organized and well managed tournament in the country. . .
