Reebok Headliner Tryout Camp

Mfon Udofia – Atlanta Headliner – 2009 – Stone Mountain, GA

Well those 2 camps (Headliner and Reebok All American Camp) were big for me. I think that Reebok All American Camp was kind of my coming out party that when college coaches and other players and coaches started noticing me and that I was a pretty good player. But the best thing I got out of Reebok All American Camp was that everyday you had to bring your “A” game. So next year I will try to play even harder every time I step out on the court. Hard work pays off.

Ari Stewart – Atlanta Headliner – 2009 – Marietta, GA

As we all know this summer was huge for me on the AAU circuit. Going into the summer I had a huge motivation to come out on top and make a name for myself. I started working extremely hard after sitting on the bench for Wheeler my sophomore year and came up with the mindset that I would never sit on the bench for any other team I played for. In the long run, all that came out to better me and make me the hard-working individual I am today. The journey to my success began at the Reebok Headliner Camp held in Atlanta. I was rated the #1 player and earned a bid to participate at the Reebok All American Camp in Philadelphia. At the Reebok All American Camp I made the All-Star team which meant I was included among the nation’s best players. Then at the end of the summer I was the 15th best player according to Rivals.com and the 20th best player according to Scout.com. I only plan on getting better.

Nate Garth – Sacramento Headliner – 2008 – Memphis, TN.

Committed to University of New Mexico

Reebok All American Camp was a great experience for me to get measured against the best talent in the nation regardless of class…I fared well and after the camp received more interest from other schools and it helped me gain more attention from other schools. I decommitted from UM with many other choices. The most memorable moments were the hotel chill spots and bus rides. The 1st couple days were my best days athletically. Also meeting new people only added to the experience.

Wow, I think it (Headliner Try Out Camp) had a major impact, my launching pad; it gave me an opportunity to show what I can do. It was a great event and impacted my recruitment in a major way. It did a lot for my confidence, I always believed I could compete with anyone, I just needed an opportunity and the Headliner camp did that. Headliner thats where I made my name.

David Kyles – Dallas Headliner – 2008 Cedar Hill, TX

During my years of competition in basketball I felt as if I was good enough to get with best of the best and I all I needed was a chance. Well when Coach Jazzy Hartwell told me about the Headliner Tryout Camp at DeSoto HS, I thought to myself maybe this is my chance to get individual recognition that I deserve. So going with my instincts I played and played well even with an ankle injury and I made it to Philadelphia and the Reebok All American Camp and joined 119 of the top players in the country. Although I wasnt ranked in the nation I got to play with other nationally known players. I had a few coaches interested in me and that was all I needed. So that experience and exposure at the Reebok All American Camp helped me sign my D-1 letter of intent to Wichita State University, thanks to coach Jazzy Hartwell and the Headliner Tryout Camp.

Tim Frazier – Houston Headliner – 2008 – Houston, TX

It was great to get a true evaluation of my talent by going against some of the other players that made the Reebok All American Camp. I knew I deserved to be at the Reebok All American Camp. Scouts really are paying attention to my point guard skills now and how I run a team. Being on the same team with Brandon Jennings at camp I got to learn some things from him that I now do on the court.

Dwight Miller – Houston Headliner – 2008 – Houston, TX

Committed to Pitt

Headliner Try Out Camp was a good experience because it gave me the chance to prove that I belong with the best players in the country. At the Reebok All American Camp I received the “Dante Anderson” award as the player that made the most of the opportunity that camp gave me and my recruiting went through the roof…I am now committed to Pitt.
